I have the expansion Shipwrecked where you have to forage for food and defend against wildlife. It reminds me of Harvest Moon and my younger days.ĭon't Starve is another I have but I don't play much. You can get married (if you want 100% completion) but you don't have to. Its kind of underrated now that GTA V is in the spotlight, but I think its a superior game.Ĭurrently playing Dying Light, 7days to die(still in Alpha) both are zombie themed but Dying light is parkour/melee combat and 7 Days to die is a zombie survival game where you craft and use tools to harvest and build a base to defend against the hordes.Īlso playing Stardew Valley, a farming game where your grandpa dies leaving you his farm and you have to clear the land and make the farm profitable. It really makes it feel like you're working your way up in the criminal underground, from the lowest levels to the highest levels. The story completely immerses you and just keeps heightening the stakes. It has the darkest tone of any game in the series, and its really cinematic. Since Mantis Shrimp mentioned the GTA series, I'll say that GTA IV is my personal favorite and one of the best games I've ever played in my life.
The combat is a solidly intense without being frustrating and impossible. The storyline is a bunch of mumbo jumbo put together from various Asian mythology, so the levels all have tons of eye candy. The katana is so much fun that you want to use guns as little as possible.

Its selling point is the katana, which has lots of special moves and fluid mechanics, and an RPG like upgrade system. It's a new game, but in the style of old school demon killing fps gameplay with a protagonist who doesn't take anything seriously.
If you like old school fps, I highly recommend Shadow Warrior, which goes on sale a lot. Neither my laptop nor my desktop can run newer games, so for the time being I'm limited to older games and indie titles. Other than the games listed above, I also have some indie games (Super Meat Boy, Bit.Trip Runner, Spelunky, etc.).

Great series that I hope to see make a comeback someday (I don't consider Nosgoth to be a proper LoK game). Everything about this game- the level design, abilities, writing- is high quality. Of the LoK games, Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance are the best in the series, with Defiance being my personal favorite.

I got the PS2 version a few years ago, however when I saw the Legacy of Kain collection on sale, I decided to get it. I prefer the 80's inspired world of Vice City, however San Andreas has a larger, more fleshed out world packed with more content. Great open world gameplay with plenty of content.
I got the bundle with GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. Gameplay is fast and fluid, adn the game has a great amount of content.īack in December I decided to get into the GTA series, and I have to say I'm glad I did (although now I wish I had done so sooner). The game also has some fps gameplay (I don't use the blaster weapons much, I prefer the lightsaber).ĪLong with Jedi Academy, this is one of the best Star Wars games that have been made. In most levels you make your way to the end, fighting stormtroopers and dark jedi, while in other levels you have to rescue prisoners from a maze containing a rancor, make your way through a hunter's stronghold while unarmed (as he's trying to kill you), etc. Great lightsaber combat (I prefer this game's combat over the Force Unleashed games), and the game has some great level variety.
