I still think the game is occasionally a little bit of fun solo, but I would never play it full time or gimp a group as a F2P player. You can unlock classes and rent instance time (at an exorbitant price), but you cannot unlock inventory space or AA progression. There is no AA progression while F2P, storage and inventory are halved, many instances are unavailable, and 8 of the 12 classes are locked. If you really want to play full on AoC you need to subscribe.
